hello, new on this forum...
i am a student and for my thesis i have to work with cad-programs.
now i have this problem:
i have an assembly drawn in autodesk inventor and i exported it to solidworks... all good!
but i stupidly drew this assembly in centimeters...
now i have to insert a component in solidworks, but this is drawn in millimeters...
can i adjust my drawing in an easy way, or the other one?

Hi and welcome,

I'm not sure but I think it doesn't matter what kind of units the parts have. Solid Works automatically changes the units into the format you have defined as the standard for your document.

In my case for example the standard is milimeters, gramms and seconds. I defined this while the installationrun.

But you are able to change the units of your document when ever you want to with "tools-options-document properties-units"

ich bin auch neu hier, und habe auch fast ähnliches Problem mit diesem Thema.
Mein Problem ist wie folgende:
Ich muss Dateien aus einem Simulationsprogramm mit der Ausgangsdatei *.iv in Solidworks übertragen, damit ich später diese vorher simulierte Bauteile im Robotworks mit Roboter simulieren kann.

Das Problem ist, dass Solidworks die Datei *.iv (Inventor V2.1) nicht einlesen kann.
Habt ihr Ahnung, wie man dieses Problem löschen kann?

Eine Idee ist mir gekommen, dass ich ein Import- und Exportfilter machen muss. Aber ich bin ja kein Informatiker.
Hat jemand Ahnung, wie man ein Impor- und Exportfilter machen kann? was muss betrachtet werden? und wie muss man die Programmsrtruktur ändern?

Wenn du Inventor zur Verfügung hast. schreib die Daten mal als ACIS (.sat) raus und importier die. Ich kann dir aber leider auch hier nicht sagen obs funzt hab nähmlich noch nichts aus Inventor importiert.
